The Step-Down Routine
This is a Routine I created from an issue I was experiencing. In my wave journey I had a time where I couldn't get my left side to wave up like my right. I asked the Wave Elites and Youtube Wavers for help and nobody had the answer. Then one day I came across Horace Bledsoe (HB3 1Time on Youtube) on FB live. I hit his inbox, explaining the situation and he said this, "If you're doing the same thing on that side that you're doing on the other side and getting different results, then you need to process that side differently." This was the realest piece of advice I ever received in the wave community, because it told me that I needed to stop looking outward for answers, and figure it out on my own. At this time I was in college so the solution came after a few short weeks.
The Problem:
The waves on your left or right side just wont come in.
The Logic:
That side clearly isn't responding to the way you're brushing. Everyone doesn't respond to tough love well, sometimes you have to take a softer approach. Generally, a brush session is when you brush your pattern with a hard, medium, and soft brush before ragging up. If a part of your pattern isn't responding to this routine, then something should be changed up.
The Solution:
For demonstration purposes, we are going to assume that we are starting our brush session off with a hard brush.
- Brush all your sides with the hard brush - except the weak side.
- Go to your medium brush, and brush your pattern starting with the weak side (and ending with the weak side as well).
- Go to your soft brush, brush your entire pattern starting and ending with your weak side.
With this routine your weak side is getting the same amount of attention your other sides are getting, but it has a slightly different workout schedule.
