Strengthening Your Weak Side
Definition:
Your weak side is the side of your pattern that has the most issues, and/or responds slower than the other sides. There are many reasons that could delay progress on your weak side, but those will be covered in more detail in the Advanced Wavenometry section. We will stick to the basics in this post.
How to fix:
The general fix for most issues is to brush more. Start and end your brush sessions with the weaker area. When I entered the wave community, we referred to sessions as running laps because we started with one side and moved around our head after a certain period of time. Ex: We would brush our right side for 5 minutes before we moved to our back waves. So if the right side is the weak side, start with the right, then move to the back, then left, top, then back to the right side again. Then you change your brush and do it all over again. This allows you to brush that side 2x as long as the other sides.
Logic:
Think of the sides of your pattern as a team. Teams are only as strong as the weakest link. One thing we know is that everyone on a team is not equal, some are faster, and some stronger, but they all pull their own weight. When there is a team member who is falling behind, that weak link needs to train/study harder or more. This is the same with your weak side, it needs more time.
